Your Time Can Change A Life

We are excited that you are considering volunteering your time as a part of the Meals on Wheels Team! 

Volunteers are the cornerstone of the Meals on Wheels work in your community. Meals on Wheels volunteers help a growing senior population face the challenges of aging and lost mobility, allowing them to stay in the communities where they’ve established roots and feel more vital as their lives progress. If you are interested in serving our most vulnerable population, we are always looking for volunteers!

Over 400 volunteers’ prep, serve and deliver meals in Linn, Benton and Lincoln Counties. Whether you can give one day a month or one day a week, your time makes a meaningful difference. There’s a role for every schedule and every skill set, including:

  • Administrative & Office Support
  • Advisory Council; Senior Services Advisory Council and Disability Services Advisory Council is a joint group of citizens of Benton, Lincoln, and Linn Counties, that advises the local offices of Senior and Disability Services. The Councils take an active role in advocating on matters relating to the development and operation of a comprehensive service delivery system for older adults, and advocates for the needs of people with disabilities, provides advice regarding policies, quality of services, and other issues important to individuals with disabilities.
  • Community Dining Serving Staff. This is served family style, offering seniors both food and connection. 11am-1pm.
  • Event Coordination
  • Home Delivery, 10:30am-1pm. Delivery drivers drive their own vehicles to deliver meals.
  • Kitchen Preparation, 8:30am-11am
  • Pet Food Program

Volunteers must be 15 years or older and pass a standard background check. If you’re ready to support some of our most vulnerable neighbors, and become part of a community that truly cares, we would love to welcome you to the team.
